Community Immunity at the Dog Park

I love running around the dog park chasing balls and playing with all my pup pals. But staying safe at the park takes teamwork. If only one dog watches out for trouble, like a broken fence or a muddy hole, that’s not enough. But when all of us look out for each other, the whole park stays safe and everyone has fun.

That’s just like something called community immunity. Some dogs (and people too!) can’t get their vaccines because of health problems or due to them being too young. But when most of us who can get vaccinated do get vaccinated, we help protect everyone, especially those who can’t protect themselves.

Vaccines help stop germs from spreading, kind of like putting up invisible fences around sickness. When enough of us have those fences, germs don’t stand a chance on anyone! That’s community immunity!

So just like we work together at the dog park, we can all help keep our communities safe. Getting vaccinated is a way to be a hero for your friends, your family, and even people and pups you’ve never met.

Stay safe out there, Tracker Gang!
