ImmunizeVA is a statewide coalition of immunization stakeholders representing medical, public health, and nonprofit professionals, as well as parents and community members. Members are united in their commitment to the coalition’s vision of a future where the quality and length of life of Virginians are not impacted by a disease that could have been prevented by immunizations. We work together to improve immunization coverage across the Commonwealth.
Our mission is to protect the health and well-being of all Virginians by achieving and maintaining full immunization protection through education, advocacy, statewide collaboration, and the promotion of equity.
ImmunizeVA was founded in 2020, building off of the legacy of Project Immunize Virginia (PIV), an immunization coalition that was active in Virginia from 1995 – 2012. PIV played an instrumental role in developing public awareness campaigns, developing educational resources for parents, providing office-based education to immunization providers, and promoting the Virginia Vaccines for Children (VVFC) and Immunization Registry.

2023 Annual Meeting
Our annual meeting serves as an organizing vehicle for immunization stakeholders from across Virginia to discuss challenges and threats to immunization rates, including 'grassroots and grasstops' advocacy; receive professional education and information on statewide immunization trends and best practices; engage in developing strategies to improve immunization rates across the Commonwealth. Invited speakers will share national trends, state/local level trends, as well as needs and best practices and how coalition members can get engaged.
